There is a sure fire way to train Pyrs not do give you the "pyr paw".   When
the raise their paw to you, gently apply pressure with your foot to the
opposite front paw and at the same time tell them "no, paws down".  They
instinctively pull have to put the paw that they are hitting you with down
to pull the other away.  As they put it down, you praise them, "good, paws
down".  It does take some repetition, but it works.

This method has worked successfully on our three pyrs.
