Re: [PyrNet-L] 5 wet smelly dogs

I was concerned about Zoey when she was a pup, as she did the same thing with
her hind legs when she ran, keeping them kind of side by side, and she is as
healthy as can be at 2 years of age.

As far as the other posts about mandatory spay/neuter, I can tell you that
even in my small facility (a little over 2,000 per year) that at any given
time there are at least 4 purebreds in the shelter, and I call and call and
beg rescue groups to save their breed, but most of them get euthanized right
along with the mixed breeds.

I am picking up 5 adult PYRS tomorrow morning and taking them to a vet to be
sterilized for rescue, and there are 6 puppies (approximately 12 weeks old) as
well. When I called the owner to make final arrangements for picking them up,
she stated how relieved she was to have found Brigette Doxtator of PYR rescue,
because she didn't want to take them to the "pound", but after trying to sell
them she didn't know what to do, as she couldn't keep them.

Michigan rescue now has 11 dogs looking for homes----(including my Zoey's
daddy), so let me know if there is any interest that either I can pass along
or you could call them: Brigette Doxtator (517) 521-4289 or Angie Aleksa (734)
479-6705 who do rescue. I am only helping with transport and sterilization
for them----they do all the work.

So you may have a chuckle on me tomorrow morning as I travel the hour drive
from their current home to the vet with 5 big (probably muddy and smelly since
it has been raining all day) dogs in the back of my suburban.

P.S. I still have the Kuvasz that I pulled from a shelter, I had her treated
for heartworm, and 5 weeks into her treatment is doing GREAT!!!!
