[PyrNet-L] TRANS from Waco, TX to OK/TX border

(I'm posting this to several lists, I apologize for the duplicate)

Pam Bately (PyrLove214@aol.com) with Great Pyrenees Rescue in Houston was called to
the shelter this morning. There was an 8 yr old female Great Pyrenees there. She's old,
arthritic and heartworm positive.............and sweet & meek as a lamb. With a heavy heart
and tears in her eyes Pam told the shelter that she couldn't take her, deal with all her
problems and place her. It's very hard to place the older ones as we all know. Pam is
completely filled up with Pyrenees who need homes as it is and we all understand that we
can't save them all. Except me. I'm new enough to Pyr Rescue that I haven't had that
lesson hit home yet. Maybe I'll learn it next year. I had looked for an older Pyr when I got
my 2 1/2 yr old Rescue Pyr in August but I couldn't find one. This senior girl was due to be
euthanized an hour ago when Pam told me about her. I told her to call the shelter and
have them save her. Thankfully they hadn't gotten to her yet, but would have shortly. The
shelter is going to hang onto her and Pam is going to pick her up tomorrow-Hooray!!
Thanks to them both!
I need to get this sweet old dog to me in Oklahoma City. Pam can transport her north to
Waco, TX. Is there anyone who would be able to get her farther north than that? I can
meet someone on the TX/OK border or even as far as Dallas if I have to.
I want to give this girl a chance. She's worth a shot to me. It's not her fault that she's old
and heartworm positive, it's the fault of some human. I'm willing to do what I can to treat
her heartworms and relieve her arthritis and allow her to live her last years inside where
old girls belong.
Can someone help me and Pam get her from Waco, TX to OK/TX border?? Please.
