Re: [PyrNet-L] Adding to my life

tom, getting your first pyr should be driven by lots of research and lots
of discussion with other pyr owners. one thing i like about this list is
that the other owners are pretty honest about painting a full picture of
pyrs. while you will hear lots of great things about them, their docile
nature, their instinct to protect, you will also hear that for the most
part they bark, shed, and have tendencies toward dominance (though if
handled early and properly is manageable). this is the type of information
you need to hear. also, they require a FENCED yard rather than just a BIG
yard. size is not nearly as important as security. they will figure out
ways to open fence latches, dig holes under fences, and otherwise escape.

if you would like to see some pyrs 'in the flesh' then we can schedule a
play date with seamus, paddington, and ivy somewhere in boston. i'm sure
ann and peg would be up for it!

email me privately if you want to set something up.
