[PyrNet-L] Racoons Anyone?

Hi List,

Living in the "sticks" of NJ I found, last weekend, a racoon
using our deck as a means to get across our property and easy
access to Cajun's fenced in area. It was an exceptionally dreary
day so he may have perceived it as night time.

The fenced in yard is neither puppy proof nor racoon proof. And I
don't think I will make it that way anytime soon. So short of
going out in the early morning and night with Cajun (and a mighty
broom tucked under my arm) has anyone had any experience with these
critters? Cajun is pretty fast when she wants to be. Anyone have
any idea on what to expect if she corners the racoon in an area
where he might not be able to escape. But best of all, any one have
any suggestions that would not be dangerous to Cajun or any other
wildlife but that will keep him off the deck and out of the yard?

I haven't seen him since the weekend, and the days got brighter.
But I doubt that he is gone for good.

Any help on this would be appreciated. You can email me privately
if you wish. I'm on the digest so I only get these posts in the
morning.

Thanks in advance.
