The sandbox (thank you, again, Charley, Nancy & Barney Huggard!) has been
a life-saver for Paddington and the grass in our backyard! We keep the
sand damp, and it's in the shade most of the day. Pre-sandbox, we had
holes all over the yard, wherever he thought he might find cool dirt to
lie in. When it gets really hot, he won't leave the air-conditioning at
all. It's very hot and steamy in Boston today, and when I let the dogs out
around noon, Paddington sniffed the air for a moment then turned right
back around and came back in. It doesn't seem to bother Ivy Rose as
much--in fact, we have to keep an eye on her so she doesn't get too hot.
Paddington loves to splash around in creeks, lakeshore etc. but is
disinterested in wading pools!
Ann, Peg, Paddington and Ivy Rose (who already think summer's been long
enough!)
