[PyrNet-L] DCM

My 6-year-old Pyr, Cody, has been diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy,
which is, simply described, an enlarged heart. He has been given a few
weeks to a few months. There appears to be a genetic component to the
disorder, at least in other breeds.

I'm told there have only been five cases of this reported in health
surveys. My question is, is this really that unusual in Pyrs? The
specialist who diagnosed the problem says it's not that unusual in other
large breeds.
