[PyrNet-L] CHAT: Non-Pyr- What is happening here

Well, I was asked by my little ol' lady's caseworker, plus hospital social
worker, plus DSHS official, plus the Adult Protection Services official to
take her in & care for her temporarily until she can get into an Adult Family
Home, so she doesn't have to face any more abuse by her granddaughter. Took
her out of hospital today and into my home.
She had gotten mad at her granddaughter and told them to get out of her
home and granddaughter tried to say she was crazy. After 3 days in hospital
being evaluated - (they knew first day she wasn't crazy, but weren't sure
what to do with her as they didn't want to send her home with
granddaughter!!) - this was how it turned out.
My hubby George was cool about it. I told them all I didn't even need to
ask him. He'd be surprised if he found out I'd refused to take her under the
circumstances. So she was already here when he came home from work today
totally aware what was up. Then he helped me get a van-full of her stuff
moved over here.
Dr. said to her "Your family said they are concerned about you and care
about you" She said loudly "BULL_ _ _ _!!" Dr. cracked up laughing and
said "That's what I thought!!"
They were all afraid for her to go to the house and get her stuff, even
with me, so asked me to go if she made me a list of what to get. (Afraid of
violence against her by granddaughter.) Granddaughter is just way too
volotile.
She was hospitalized for 3 days and I am only visitor she had the whole
time!!! The officials all said she should never have been admitted, but it
is good she was as it made things happen quicker than they were happening.
I'd been trying to get something done to no avail!! Caseworker told me she
was in hospital and they were saying she was crazy!! I said the
granddaughter is the crazy one!
I went to hospital yesterday evening and was there visiting until an hour
and half after visiting hours ended!! They knew I was doing her a lot of
good, so didn't make me leave. She even came outside to see my hubby and son
and Albert and Mattie. This morning I was back there at 8:30am and there all
day. (After only 2.5 hrs. sleep last night!)
I forgot to tell you that I also got her dog - little Taco Bell dog!!
They were both so glad to be together again!! They are in the travel trailer
together. That way she doesn't have to deal with the stairs in our house and
she has some privacy. Also got her authorized for one of those things you
wear around your neck and can push button on it if you need help. "LifeGuard"
they call this one.
I am really worn out, but mind is racing. Drinking a glass of wine now to
mellow out! We had ice cream and chocolate already!!!! :)
I'd like to go visit with & get my dogs, but I want her to get a good
night's rest. You know how hospitals are. I am afraid if I go out tonight
that her dog will start barking and she'll get worried, or at least wake up.
Plus mine are settled for the night. I could sure use a Pyr hug about now!!
Hubby fed them and both boys were here all day so they got attention from
them!! I am going through Pyr-hug withdrawals!!
Need to check my mail a bit and then finish my glass of wine and crash
myself... hopefully soon. But you know how I am!! Only got 2.5 hrs. sleep
last night!! What a day! Or couple of days!! Emotionally exhausted!!
Dogs are sure better companions and treat people better than some people
do!! So glad she is where she is safe and loved and is reunited with her dog
tonight.
