At what age are dogs, in particular Pyreness, able to "hold it" and only be taken out every couple hours or so?

 

Kane goes out sometimes every 20 minutes......I expect that of a 5 1/2 month old, but was just wondering at what age do they slow down.

 

Also another question:

 

When you got your Pyre "fixed", did he run a slight fever or pant often?
