Yes I agree on the exercise restriction for youngsters but another form of
exercise is swimming for muscle tone. Of course your dog has to like water
but even a walk along the beach on a lead on the sand is not a problem for
the young ones.   Too many hard surfaces, too much rough play with other
dogs can cause problems.
