So sorry to hear about your puppy.  Luxating patella is becoming more of a
problem in Great Pyrenees.  Several years ago the membership of the GPCA
voted to set up a data base to study the problem and the mode of
inheritance.

I have heard of pups who have been operated on and have done very well.  I
would suggest that you contact a good orthopedic specialist to do the
operation.  I've never heard that there is any connection between luxating
patella and hip dysplasia.  Let us know how your pup gets along.
