[PyrNet-L] Placement help needed

Dear fellow pyr lovers,
My husband and I are in a real bind and could use any help out there or any
suggestions. We currently have 1 female Pyr, Skade, that we rescued nearly
7 years ago. She was the companion to Snorri, who died this last winter.
Our problem is that we are moving back to the DC area and will be living in
a temporary apartment for 8 months. Needless to say, they will not accept
Skade, and nor will any place I've been able to find. It seems that
apartments view 70 pounds as a big dog, and unless Skade goes on a crash
diet, that won't happen. At this point, my only option is to try and find
someone that will board her until next summer, but I don't want to put her
in a traditional kennel. She would be absolutely miserable in there. If
anyone would be willing to take her as a foster, please let us know. We are
willing to pay for her care and drive her some distance to place her. She
is 11 years old and in good health, with some stiffness in her hips (no
surprise).
Thank you,
Amy Lindsey
