Those bacterial infections can be buggers! And they can become immune to meds
quickly. I have been fortunate that Tanner's skin has not become immune. I
rotate shampoos also. I rotate between the Chlorhexiderm 4%, a shampoo called
Relief (also made by DVM Pharm), and and Avacodo based shampoo. I also put
Tanner on a diet by Breeders Choice Pet foods called Renew. We kind of have
to rotate food every 6-8 months as well. I switch between the renew and a Low
Antigen Prescription diet made by Purina. He also has to be kept completely
shaved in the summer, which is quite hillarious on a Brittany. He is a
complete house dog, so he does fine without hair. In the winter he seems to
do better. He is actually in great shape now.

With him it has been trial and error on finding what will work with him. He
also has some gastrointestinal problems that are totally stress related.
Brittanys are hyper stressed out little doggies. This has really only been a
problem in the past year, he just turned 6, and you can tell he is starting
to age. His face is beginning to turn grey. I imagine that probably has
something to do with it. I am glad all of my Pyrs have normal skin! (knocks
on wood...)
