Cindi, yes Clumber's are intelligent, very steady dependable workers. 
They will obed. train, but will be slow steady workers, not a hyper
energy type.  They do have some coat ( like the top hair on a Pyr.,)  and
feathering on legs etc.

 Corgi's...   C's are thought to be the older of the two, and have a full
tail.  P's are the ones we see the most often,  no tail, and said to be a
bit more social.....but???They have a real heavy undercoat, in spite of
the shorter top coat, and can be a real pain to get completely dry in a
hurry, so I am not sure I would call them wash and wear.  Both breeds are
good family dogs.  You may need to check with a breeder to see about a
Corgi going under fences, I am suspicious they have the personality that
might.  Although I don't know that for sure.  Cindy.
