[PyrNet-L] Wants another puppy I think Not!
Recently I had a puppy returned to me for a
number of reason the main one being the owner. The owner of the puppy wanted the
puppy to be just like the other 2 pyrs she had. This puppy bonded more with the
husband than her and she became jealous of the dog.The dog tried to win her over
but she just seem to find fault with everything the dog did ie he barked when
she studied, he wouldn't listen to her, the puppy chewed on some of her
underwear all to get her to pay attention to him. The dog came to live at my
kennel and he is not going back. I believe that with about a month worth of
training to work out the rough edges this dog could go in obedience and do well
by a novice like myself. He is a very sweet and obedient dog who even comes(most
of the time) when called. I'm going to keep him and find him a loving home if I
can - one that will appreciate him for what he is and one that does not nag him
from sunup to sunset. Now that he has relaxed he is playing with one of my old
gals and is very sweet to her. He can get out of crates if he wants to so
I'm told but he has made no attempts to get out of his run or exercise
area.
I don't mind taking in
a dog but this one made me angry as the woman wanted to know where I was going
to place him and have some say in his placement. She was rather upset when she
found out that I was not going to let her know what was going to become of
dog. She wanted him out of her life as he was a problem and I did that. Now the
straw that broke the camels back was she phoned me and wanted to know when I was
going to do a litter that her husband and her would like to try another
pyr.Their lives were not complete without a dog. If I wasn't going to do a
litter could I recommend a breeder who might sell them another one.
After I picked myself up off the floor I told her the only dog she should have
to make their lives complete was a stuffed one from Wal Mart.
I know she will be looking
for another Pyr or possible a Tibetian Mastiff but I hope she never finds
another person to sell to her.
