My vet also put my old girl on Rimadyl.  To me it did not do a thing.  I
then tried Glucosamine and saw a tremendous improvement on her quality of
life.  She has been on it now for close to a year and I am still very
pleased with the results.  There are also other products that combine the
glocusamine with other vitamns, etc. that will help reinforce the
glucosamine.
