When our pups were little they didn't bark.  They really didn't do much in 
the barking line until probably about 10 - 12 months.  Zoe, our youngest, 
will be 18 months on Dec 13, and she has only now just started to "find her 
voice".  As soon as we let her out, she's running around like a loonie 
barking at anything and everything.  

Don't worry -- your 4 1/2 month old will find her voice soon enough :-)
