Re: [PyrNet-L] Compatibility with birds

There are many raisers of birds that use Great Pyrenees for guardian dogs,
protecting the birds against coyotes, stray dogs, owls, eagles, foxes, etc.
The only trick is the dogs must be raised with birds from a young age and
taught some manners with them. We use Muscovey ducks because their pretty
tough, though we still lose some occasionally to puppies) they can swing a
pretty mean peck if the need arises. Ducks are also more prone to fly into
the face of a pup startling it. Puppies learn to steer clear of them.
