Yes, of course, the dogs don't make the breeding decisions. These
unscrupulous breeders use linebreeding for the same reason I use it, you are
able to produce better dogs more consistently. Only thing is they do not
care to selectively breed out or around the problems, which is what it should
be.

You must separate "the separate the method from the madness." For example, a
knife in the hands of a pathological murder such as Richard Manson most
likely means something much different that a knife in the hands of say, Julia
Childs. To do otherwise is to summarily indict all who linebreed as being as
irresponsible and responsible for purposively perpetuating and even creating
breed problems. This would be very unfair to a lot of really conscious hard
working people, who are very dedicated to the welfare of the breed. No one
denies that the dog world attracts a lot of "want to be's" and many of these
people define themselves solely by their success with dogs or in doggy
circles. Many of these people have no real foundation of ethics or morality
as people, only their pathological need for self worth. These people will do
anything to make themselves known and famous. You all know wonderful people
that are really reality based people who simply love the dogs. They can be
great breeders as well, its just that they don't define their lives solely by
what wins their dog gets or how much they can sell puppies for or how many
dogs they can import to Japan at 3 to 10 times the going rate they get even
at their inflated rate here in North America, etc. You are not going to
change these people, but it is a mistake to lump the rest with them because
of their well founded breeding techniques.
