It's hard to watch even when you got them middle aged - my rescue girl,
Freya, is 5 or 6 years old and when she gets up, it's like her legs have
pins and needles and she can't walk properly for a minute or two - and I
have only had her for a month, and it still  breaks my heart to see that...I
keep wondering what she was like as a pup, and I wonder what wonderful parts
of her were suppressed by her previous owners...as she is so very quiet and
self-contained, and rarely does anything that merits a chastisement...
