[PyrNet-L] Re: Non Pyr, "The Tattoo"

No not the sort done on people's skins or dogs but the first ever "Tatttoo"
held outside of Edinburgh in Scotland. Wellington, New Zealand was given
permission to hold the "Tattoo" in March so months of planning have gone
into this event with even a replica of the castle built. The massed pipes
and drums, the armed services bands, the marching girls, the highland
dancers, the Maori tribe, the singing of "Auld Lang Syne" and "Now is the
hour" could bring a tear to the eye as could the lone piper's lament at the
end in the battlements of the Castle. The Pyrs inside were warned no
barking and no howling for the last lament!! It was wonderful but did not
quite bring the required tear to the eye as the announcer said " Farewell
from the Tattoo and long may your lum reek!" Never thought I'd hear that one
again so soon.
