Patric & Joe,

DM is thought to be an autoimmune disorder...thereore it could be carried in family lines...it is considered comperable to Multiple Sclerosis ipn people.  DM has the same type of actions...the immune system attacks the myelin sheath covering of the nerves, primarily the spinal cord in the lower back.  This degeneration causes plaques to form, and this affects nerve transmissions to the caudal limbs..
