Re: [PyrNet-L] In-Ground Digester

tried an inground digester when they first came out, about 30 years ago.  Had 3 dogs.  The digester was overwhelmed, didn't work, froze in the winter.  I was unimpressed.  Fortunately I have enough space I can dig a deep hole, 4'.  Droppings go in and covered with a layer of dirt.  When filled, another hole is dug elsewhere.  I'm sure county health wouldn't approve, but works for me.

Subject: [PyrNet-L] In-Ground Digester

Does anyone use an in-ground digester system to dispose of droppings?  I'm thinking about installing one and would like to hear back from pyr people who use them.  How well do they work?  Is there an odor problem?  Do you know of any environmental impacts?

Thanks!
Kim
