Hey Jan,

I lived in Neu Ulm, Germany for a few years and came across the odd
restaurant that allowed dogs.  They were always well behaved, laying by
their masters or under the table.  Never did notice doggy pooh ... I should
hope that it would be dealt with promptly!! ;-)  Actually, I would hope that
any dogs going to restaurants would be trained!  But you're right; it
depends on parents and owners.  My kids learned early on that acting up in
public got them a quick trip back home, do not pass GO, do not collect $200.
As for scraping piles of child pooh off one's boots ... I had a close
encounter in K-Mart ... but that's another story.

Oh ... and I have to recant what I said about dogs not crying when they
don't get their own way.  Daisy's internal clock is telling her that it's
past nine pm and time for her walk.  She's crying and pawing me and being an
all-around pest.  I stand corrected!
