Yes, Maremmas are quite like Pyrs in temperament.  Juma is great with children
(even though my hubby and I don't have any yet and she's only had minimal
exposure to them).  She doesn't have any livestock to guard so she busies
herself in other ways, such as redistributing the recycle bins throughout the
yard and sleeping with us in bed ... rather, we sleep with her when there's
room enough for us.  :)  She does have a penchant for chasing cars, though,
especially when we visit our neighbors, who have an incomplete fence.  Would
love to hear of some ways to break her of it, although I'm not sure it's
possible.  Luckily (knock wood) she hasn't figured out how to jump her own
fence.
