Yes, spray the coat with some liquid coat conditioner.  You do not need to 
get it wet, just damp.  Hard to find good pin brushes anymore, but do the 
best you can, it is better than a rake or slicker.  If you brush it daily, it 
will be easy and it will stimulate the coat to good health.
