Lori, mine all have their collars on at all times.  I too worry more
about being lost without I.D.  I also do not like the ridges that any
collar leaves, some are better than others.
But I put up with the ridge, to be sure they have I.D. on.  I like the
rolled nylon collars, but they are harder to find in bigger sizes!  Cindy
