Re: [pyrnet] Consider breeding carriers (a proposal)

I think you will find it much more prevalent on
a percentage basis in the dwarf populations (i.e., percentage of
deformities
in Dwarfs as compared to the total universe of Dwarfs) Vs the non Dwarf
population (percentage of like deformities compared to the non-Dwarf
population). >>

OK, let me restate that then.

You said: "Oh, and wait until they get the dwarf that is not so cute and
lovely, you
know those with severe deformities of the limbs, etc."
in commenting upon the idea that people actually *wanted* dwarf Pyrs.
Perhaps I too quickly read or over-read what you said. Yes, many of us see
dwarfs as not "cute and lovely" but many people do see them that way
"deformities" and all. Most Pyrs dwarfs are no more deformed than any
dwarf breed such as Cardi Corgis, just for example. Yes, the deformities
are more pronounced than in "normal" Pyrs but surely few are "severe".
Perhaps you meant to imply nothing about the possibilities of dwarfs being
crippled and, if so, I was reacting to something you did not say. My point
was that few dwarfs (to our knowledge) are physically impacted beyond the
"normal" dwarf look. They are not more ill, more crippled etc than normal
Pyrs. The only thing that dwarfs are more commonly than the normal
population, is deaf or hearing impaired. Other than that they are
generally strong, healthy, happy dogs. So, although you and I may be less
than thrilled about the idea, there are clearly very many people who find
them "enchanting". What accounts for the popularity of all dwarf breeds?
