[pyrnet] Separation Anxiety

Lisa,
Talking only about the separation anxiety part of the problem....Would you
share the pup's history? Had he ever been abandoned before joining your
family? If so, he may get better with time and trust.

My pups loved to listen to classical music while I was away. They hated
several other types of music and would bark at it. Also, they loved peanut
butter stuffed cow hooves to chew when I left home. Now there is some talk
about cow hooves not being sanitary. Also, I think the peanut butter may be
harmful to their teeth. But it really kept them occupied until they got
sleepy.

One of my cats made an "overnight" recovery from nervous hair licking with a
short term treatment of anti-anxiety prescription. Since the medical
experts don't fully understand how these work in humans, much less cats,
this was tried as a last ditch effort.
