Diane, I actually agree with you here, but even that isn't always
assured.  When mine are getting more barky as a whole. I try to really
get them extra busy, and wear them out somewhat.  Sometimes it works like
a charm, other times they seem worse.  Sometimes I just think it is
something going on ( maybe in the air, scents? ) that we can't
understand, but that it acts as more of a trigger.  We all joke about
them barking at air, well, there may be something to it.  But I agree
with you that it is worth the effort to occupy them and try to get them
to focus on something besides the warning bark.  I also know that while I
complain, they usually are seeing something ( we live in the country )
that I am not always seeing at first.  I don't need to know that a
Cardinal landed in a tree two miles away, but to them it is worth letting
me know, type of thing.  I do love them!  Cindy
