I am pleased to hear that the wood floor is less slippery than the tile.
Can you be more specific, do you have old fashioned wood, or some of these
new miracle woods?
Most of the downstairs at my house is ceramic tile.  If a little moisture
gets on it, even in shoes with a tread your feet slide out from under you
quickly. I have carpet in the den that I want to replace with wood or tile
and would love to know more about your experiences?
