Re: [pyrnet] Ivy Roses

Oh, Boy, Calysto--that Christmas parade sounds like fun, but we live in
Boston, and I don't think we can convince the parents to take quite such a
detour.
I never thought of the climbing part of ivy roses--I don't know if that's
why they named me, but it sure fits. I love to climb into laps, onto mom's
bed if she leaves the door open, and I really like to get up high so that
I can bark out of all the windows. Ivy roses also tend to climb into and
through any available opening, and I'm *really* good at that. After I came
to stay, mom found all kinds of holes that no one else had been able to
get through. After she fixed all those, I had to take the lattice off the
deck. Then when she fixed that, I had to figure out how to work the latch
on the gate. Now she's put a padlock on it, but I'm working on it. I don't
want to run away, you understand, but when it's nice and quiet in the
neighborhood, I'd just love to go exploring, particularly to chase those
squirrels that tease us from up on the bank.
They didn't find Paddington on a station; sometimes I wonder just where
they found him, but he tells me that he comes from a fine family and has
been here since he was a baby. He's a party pooper though--doesn't always
want to play when I do, and sometimes he tattles when I'm up to something.
But I like him just the same, and together we take care of the greater
Boston metropolitan area, which we consider our front yard. Right now
we're busy diverting air traffic away from our neighborhood, as well as
crows and geese that fly over.
Does your mom spoil you with good stuff in your food? I can make mine do
pretty much anything I want by smooching and, if necessary, by chasing my
tail and acting like a puppy (I'm 8 years old, but everyone thinks I'm a
puppy because I'm so lively and a bit on the small side). My brother gets
his way by turning his head on one side and staring at mom until she
melts. Whatever works!
Talk to you again soon.
