Hi there Bridget. I do rescue and we spay and neuter our dogs at all ages.
The only thing different about neutering an adult dog, rather than a pup is
that it will take a little time for the testosterone to work it's way out of
his system after the procedure. And never once have I seen or heard of any
dog "missing it's parts". This sounds like a rather transparent attempt to
prey on the public. For the sake of your dogs health and well being please
have him neutered.
