Re: [pyrnet] Separation anxiety in re: neutering

Bo was neutered at 9 1/2 years of age due to prostatitis. He was
a bit upset for a day or two, (probably because of the surgery
not the fact that his "parts" were missing) but he's been fine
since. I've had a few dogs neutered at a later age and we've done
a number of Rescue dogs as well. It doesn't make a darn bit of
difference. After a few days or at least once they are completely
healed, they don't remember, anyway. It's the same as saying that
being around bitches in season will cause them to have "problems"
(with remembering that the bitches were in season) long after the
bitches have gone out of season. I know someone who believes
this. If they are not bred when the bitch is in season. Which, of
course, is ridiculous! Dogs instincts are kicked in by the scent
of a bitch in season. It is not something they think about
constantly!
