"So, where have you been? You know how to contact Kelly. She told me that
you had before at some point. Did you make it very clear to her that you are willing to help with rescue. That you would check out dogs at shelters, spend money to bail the dog, take the dog yourself to foster, make endless phone calls or emails to people who might be interested in the dog? Have you done this Merri and have you continued to stay in touch and make your presence known"? And how muchenergy have you expended for that endless flow of Pyrs that don't get high profile face time on the internet? It can get much better than creating free web pages with pic's and profiles of the Pyr's that come in to insure good home for them. Not to mention the volunteer walk time I have done with Pyrs "in the shelters herein town, and other places" before they have gotten adopted. Oh sure. We take completely unknown dogs out of shelters and we place them with nice and well meaning church families who have kids but have never owned a Pyr and who have no idea of what they are dealing with. Besides the potential risk to the people have you ever heard the words "law suit"? Every fostering program under the sun...train's and evaluates before people become official to foster. If so, what are you "expected:" to do with or for him and for how long? We will care for him...until my gut senses tell me he can be release...unless my kids say otherwise, and then his home will be with us. Does he have a forever home waiting for him? Are you implying here that Kelly was lying? I only stated what I was told! We were the only Pyr people that ever showed up in person. One other person was sent to bail Gil out as a last ditch effort to save him...if no one else showed up for him...she was sent by Joan. Besides us two..no one showed up in person to even see what shape Gil was really in. In the pic the pound presented online Gil was behind the fencing of his kennel, because he is such a mess. This place is not a shelter. It is a holding place... until claim or death. They will not work with the shelters in this town. Spokane Humane society, and Spokanimal. To insure placement if not claimed. Gil was brought into the pound on the 16th of June. And it took our family one day to get him out... and that was on the 26th. The pounds Rules are 10 day holding, and you know it. If you don't have any foster homes...they'll have to be created. Our main concern is that Gil Heals, and I am going to insure that he does just that. Thank you for your best wishes concerning "Gil" Merri R |
