The only thing that the standard says is that nose and lips should be black.
And it faults "missing" pigment.  (not fading pigment).  It also mentions
the colored undercoat that Joe talk about.  Tradition tells us that it is
desireable to have strong body spots and a dark roof of the mouth and
sometimes even pigmented gums.  And usually black nails indicate strong
pigment genetics.  All the judge can truly look for is black lips and nose.
