Birds are the most difficult thing for a dog to work with.  They flap and
squawk and do things that "nice" livestock don't do.  It takes longer to get
dogs safe with birds.  One of the most comprehensive articles available on
line is by Jennifer Floyd.  Go to http://www.lgd.org/.  Select library.
From there scroll down to LIVESTOCK GUARDIANS and choose Livestock Guardians
and Poultry.
