I have no idea if this is sound advice or not, but the greyhound rescue group 
deals with this a lot because they greys arent used to packaged food when 
they leave the track.  We are told to feed (and I know this sounds bizarre) 
canned sweet potatoes with the food to firm up stools.  That or canned 
pumpkin.  I have done it for grey rescues and it did work for me although I 
have no idea if its a valid idea or not.
