Re: [pyrnet] Dog foods

Have not had an incidence of cancer since that time. (knock on wood!) The
last dog with Cancer died about 11.5 years ago, give or take a few months.
And yes, the 2 dogs I've had that lived to old age have died an average of
at least 2 years later. (B.B. had to be euthanized because of severe
arthritis due to hip dysplasia which we knew about when we got her) Princess
was killed by a car when she escaped the fence. And Chel is only 8 years
old. I had 2 litters over the years and only one pup (she was 7 years old at
the time) contracted any form of cancer. That one had Osteosarcoma. My
opinion here, is that if I'm feeding a food that will help the dog's immune
system, and not stress it any further, than it may help mitigate
environmental factors. I have a lot of cancer in my own family. I do not use
any pesticides, nor do I use any chemical fertilizers or weed killers. I
keep my own yard as free of chemicals as I possibly can, nor do I put
chemicals on the dogs. (unless absolutely necessary, and in Bo's 12 years he
has been chemically treated for fleas between 4 and 6 times) The same with
the others but it has been only 2 times for Chelsea. I think that all these
factors, as well as genetics contribute to my dogs being cancer free. (at
least so far anyway)
