My Pyrs don't drink overly much.  That has a lot to do with diet more than
anything.  If you feed a dry food (eg kibble) there is no moisture in the
food so they have to get al their fluids by drinking copious amounts.  As I
feed a raw diet, there is a lot of moisture in their food already so they
don't need as much.  A lot of people notice when switching to a diet that
contains more moisture (such as raw) that the amount the dog needs to drink
is reduced.

Of course if a dog is drinking abnormally excessively (eg when it never did
before) a check for the vet may be warranted to rule out conditions such as
Diabetes.
