My last dog had this in both his knees. I had one operated on when he was about a year and the second when he was about 5. He recovered from the first operation much faster than the second... I am not sure if this was due to his age and size or not. My vet did not offer the surgery, but did recommend a great place in MA. These operations were also performed more than 6 years ago, so I think there would be improvements in the procedure since then. If I ever had another dog with the same problem, I would not hesitate to have this procedure performed.
