[pyrnet] RE: Pyrs with other dogs

I have found it depends on the pyr and the other dog.
I have only had male pyrs and they have seemed quite tolerant and
accepting of my female dogs of other breeds. Even quite alpha females,
my first male pyr would let my female lab do anything she wanted. My
current male pyr is just overboard silly about my female leonberger and
saint. Now other males it took a bit of work. He totally ignores my 13
year old male aussie, but I think all the dogs in the household know
he's crazy and give him a wide berth. My male newf and mastiff though
took a bit of challenging and a few fights before they worked things
out. From my experience opposite sexes seem to do pretty well, depending
upon how dominant the other dog is and willing to reliquinsh authority
to the pyr, same sex groupings may result in some pretty heavy duty
battles.
