The very first thing that I would do is to get them to a vet. just to "rule out" any medical reason for their soiling the house, and their behavior changes~~

To all...Anyone want some dogs?????
Bear (4) and Sugar Bear (3) have developed a very nasty habit.
>.this has got to be so very frustrating for You~~
.
.when we
leave the house they will get on the counters, the table, the bread cart
where ever, and eat whatever they can get their grubby little paws on!!!!!
I've tried pushing the food to the back, hiding the food under things,
putting it in my Tupperware, double checking to make sure the bread cart
drawers are shut really well.  Nothing so far has seemed to deter them from
doing it.
>>>>.Put all food either on top of the refriderator ( or in the refridgerator) ,or in the microwave, put child proof locks on the cabinent doors <~~sold at K-Mart, Walmart, ect>>very easy to install~~

Not even giving them spankings or crating after the fact.>dogs have a
very, very short memory span~if You are spanking them after the fact, they have forgotten what they did in the first place,
( which by the way is very rewarding to them)~all  that You are
teaching them is" here comes Mommy, she's gonna' hit Me again"~~Even is You are crating them after the fact, You are still not teaching them anything, and You have a mess to clean up~~" big frustration for You !
They've also been peeing and pooping in the floor when we leave!!!!!
>>>.is it possible that because they are now "counter surfing, the excess/differant types of foods have completley thrown their bowels off ?  They cannot control themselves ?

I have no idea what's made them go mad but something has them really pissed
and I'm ready to give up!!!
>>>dogs are in-capable of Human Emotion~yes, they do have emotion, but not vindictiveness, spite,ect...Don't give up~~As My Mother always told Me "Can't never Could"

I will not tolerate such behavior in the house
any longer.>.don't blame You      one little bit~this has got to be so frustrating ~

This has been going on for about six month>>>>>>>>>You are absolutley
right, this behavior has now become a habit with them~~habits can be eithier eliminated, or controlled~~since Your are the Human in this equasion ~~it is up to You to figure out a safe & Humane way to get past these girls~~You can do this~it will  just take some thinking on Your part~(Granted, with Pyrs. it may take a lot of thinking, but, it can be done ) <BG>

  I'm at my wits
end.  I do not have a fenced in yard to put them in.  I do, however,

have
crates, but crating them every time I leave defeats the purpose of having
them to guard the house when we're out.
>>>>>>>>gotta' agree with Mitzi here~~those dogs "give off" a Pyr. Bark & the bad guys are gonna' think twice before comming in your house~~they won't know that the dogs are crated~~
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.  I have no idea what we've
all done that's made them go nuts.  I have no idea what I'm supposed to do
to bring them back to their "right" frame of mind.  I just don't know.
>>>>>You're gonna' have to go back to "square one"~~They have to be treated as puppys until You have this thing under control~~

I've told Todd and the girls that if they do it again they're gone!  They're
going to  ruin my new dining room table getting on there to get the food
that's in the middle.  (To the tune of $2,000.00! just for the stinking
table.)  I've been lucky so far they've not dug their claws in!
>>>>>>I can sympathize !~~I would be scared to death too ! Get the food off the table, Hun !  Do not give them any incentive to get up there ! ( they're being rewarded for getting on the table )
: food on table + Mommy not in the house= climb on table for goodies to eat

Please help...thanks in advance!!!!>>>>>>>>>>>>If You need any links to crate-training, I'll be glad to send them to You~~

Oh!!!  BTW :   a tired dog is a happy dog~~try a few more walks arround the block, play with them in the house~wear them out , potty them, then crate them when they have no supervision~~

Good luck
