Hello all. We have a 12 year old female pyr. Begninning with
last summer, she began to get "hot spots" that went from nothing, to a major
infection, at least twice. both times we had to actually have the
vet keep her overnight to give her antibiotics and fluids. This is
new. We watch her like a hawk, and she gets frontline, but has had two
more episodes, that I caught fast enough to clean, cone her and spray w/
antibiotic spray. Along with this, about once a month or more, she has a
major diarreah episode all over my house and once threw up. Took her to
vet - he chose not to do any blood work, checked her othewise and said give her
a peptobismal. Sitting here now, having just cleaned up the rug -
I'm not happy with his answer. What might cause this? Does anyone
have any ideas? She is on Alpo, with some canned food (she had lost 15
lbs, but is back up to a decent weight) - and gets invisible link w/
glucosamine.
Any help would be much appreicated.
