Thank you all for your help. I will pass the info along. I think that he will be very relieved to hear that other Pyrs had a voice change in old age....and he can also watch for signs of a cold or perhaps growth on the vocal chords. I did not ask him how long this had gone on, but knowing this concientious owner it is probably a fairly recent development.

Hi Charlotte, this happened to my B.B. Almost like she had been debarked.
Could be some sort of growth on the vocal chords, and then again it could be
nothing. B.B.'s voice never came back, but she was fine.
