Your stories also lead me to wonder why it seems so many Pyrs have to go
through the surrender/foster/adoption process?  They are so unwaveringly
loyal, it must be very hard for them to be moved around from one family to
Another.

Hi Nancy,
it's the dogs themselves that are wonderful~I take no credit~~
Yes, they are very loyal, but, they are also very adapatable~Very seldom is there a problem~
As for the question as to why so many end up homeless?
Lack of forethought~Human says " Oh look at that cute, beautiful little ball of fur"!  " I've just got to have one"( never have heard of the breed before, I'll be the 1st one in My condo complex to have one !")
WAA-LAA !  after the first few months of haveing to walk a dog, the "potty messes on the carpet, the size of the dog is now a small pony~~the shedding, the drooling, the barking, Oh, and don't even think about formal obedience training ! :( ( if the puppy is kept until it become an uncontrollable teenager the lack of training will become a big issue)
WHY, that puppy is not near as cute as it was~~so to the pound it goes! If the puppy is lucky, it will be rescued~~
