Re: [pyrnet] Re: FOUND PYRS

Lisa,

What about writing a letter to them with a return receipt requested card?  You will get a green postcard from the post office when the letter is delivered.  It will be forwarded if they have moved.  Since they already know that they seem to have abandoned the dog with you, maybe now they will respond so you can release him to another home.  It sounds like either they were cowards and did not want to tell you that they were not going to take care of Tonka any longer (but tried to do right by gettng him to the vet and back to you) or something bad happened to them.  I know that when my mother died, her cat was at the vet and we did not think about the cat for a few days becasue we had all been away and suddenly it dawned on us that Cat was not around.

Good Luck,  Amy

I was not implying anything about "manner of keeping".  I was asking advice of the list as to how different rescues follow-up on adoptions in gated communities (that is after the initial homecheck is performed).  It is easy to gain access when they are expecting you for their appointment, but do you add a clause in the adoption contract?

These people appeared to be a wonderful home, had a Pyr live to the age of 12, and her mother is a retired groomer, so the dog is in excellent condition.  They even had Tonka fully vetted and vaccinated the day before they brought him to me to stay.

I did not mean to imply anything about wealth of a prospective adoptor.  However, it is a consideration to know that a large dog's medical needs can be met without any difficulty, if they arise.

Pardon me if I offended you.
Regards,
