Here is the response that I got, when I asked for more time .....

Hi Nina:
Thank you for your kind heart.
I wish "time" were in my control.
I am one of the volunteers that does
petfinder photos and email. I am not
an Animal Control Officer not member
of City/County government so I can't
decide who dies nor allow more time
for any pet.
In truth with a small shelter like
ours "somebody" has to die to make
space and KY law requires the new
ones to have 5 days for their owners
to find them. Sometimes with lots of
new arrivals the only "old ones" are
ones that might get adopted but
they just run out of time. That's
pretty much the story here. I think
late this afternoon there were 4
kennels vacant due to euthanasia.
If 4 dogs come in and none are
adopted out space will be made.....

I am sorry I have no control.
