Re: [pyrnet] 2 Pyrs are in need of rescue from a kill shelter inGlawsgow, KY

Brian,
Do you know much about Dumb Friends League? The couple we adopted Osa from had rescued her out of the Castle Rock Humane Society, but Dumb Friends was also nivolved somehow, btu I'm not sure how. I wonder if they would be willing to get involved to get them to an adopter/foster/no-kill shelter...?

BTW I'm also in Denver, near City Park.

Thanks,

Matt

I do live in denver and there is a Pyr rescue here. I only have a chevy malibu with blankets in the back. I don't know if I could fit three Pyrs in there. But two is better than none to save. Here is the link in case one of the other rescues need it. http://www.mhgpc.org/

there have been some people that have said they can help with transport, I emailed a PYR rescue place in texas and found one in Kentucky( I just have to email them, I am trying to find one in Colorado, is Denver where you are located?? If so I can try and locate some shelters there. OH and I should let youy know, there is actually 3 Pyrs in that shelter.

  Thank you

I checked the milage from glasgow to Denver...1172...I figure I can go about 300 miles east and back in a day. If the other poster that said they can help transport west can get 300 miles, that just leaves 600 in the middle if there are a couple of people in the middle that can make 300 miles each, we would be good as far as getting them here. I have a male pyr and a female elkhound so I couldn't keep them personally, but I am sure a shelter around here would take them and find them homes in short order.

I so agree Nancy that it is heartbreaking to look into their eyes and not be able to do anything..We live in Canada but can't help but feel there must be someone that knows someone that knows someone else that does live in the area that could help these two, the Collie Pyr cross is also a sweetie, as are all of the pups and adult dogs at this particular shelter. I forwarded the email to another Pyr group in the hope that somebody can do something.

Heartbreaking to look into their beautiful faces when things look so bleak for them.
If someone had a good forever home for the two of them, could we get volunteers to set up a relay to transport?
I am in no position to take them in, even temporarily, but we are touched by their plight, and maybe could help get them to a new home.
