Re: [pyrnet] Pyr going to rescue.

Lisa I am so sorry that you feel that we have all let you down, I also read your post and felt that I had nothing to offer because from this sentence alone:

>>>I have 1 pyr and two smaller dogs, I am sure someone out here has moved and can give me some ideas, since leaving in a vehicle with the heat is never a good idea but eating in a vehicle with 5 kids is not a great idea either.<<<

it does sound like a daunting task, I would think that two vehicles are a must, to enable someone to always stay with the dogs during the necessary meal times and bathroom breaks. I am not sure how long this trip should take as I live in Canada and am not familiar with your states and distances, I could look on a map I suppose. But lets face it this is just a one off and once you are there then life can get back to normal. Are there overnight stops..what do you have planned for that, will the dogs have to stay in the car?

I think that your frustration level is high right now as you are on a time limit...but the dogs you mentioned that needed people to rally for them were also on a time limit, only they were going to die Lisa..which is why everyone was trying so hard. I also think that you are expecting a lot for folks to be ready with an answer especially at the weekend, people are busy and it is normally a time very quiet on most Groups.

If you do decide that you cannot manage your Pyr now or in the future please spend some of this time that you have left to find her a decent home or a rescue group..this is something that can be helped by those that care for the welfare of Pyrs. Don't make a rash decision and have her suffer for it.

I have decided since there were no replies to my earlier question of how to travel with my Pyr since I am moving across the country I will take her back to the Rescue I got her from. If this sounds a bit harsh it is meant to seeing you all jump to it when there is one in a Shelter but offer no assistance to someone who wants to take their dog with them and how to deal with them in this summer heat traveling.

Lisa
